I wish that I could paint for you
The scene within my mind,
The meadow where I lay with you
And birds of every kind.

The giant rainbow in the sky,
With colors pure and true,
Wind blowing softly in the trees,
Grass laced with morning dew.

Mountains rising all around
And every where you look,
Are creatures living off the land;
I hear a babbling brook.

There is a cave of stone nearby,
And echoing within,
The hushed tones of a waterfall,
Air pure against my skin.

If you close your eyes and listen,
You actually can hear,
Nature’s soft voice whispering,
So gently in your ear.

This is the place I wish my words,
Could make come real for you,
The place I build within my mind;
The place where dreams come true.

Within this peaceful place I am,
What I was meant to be,
I share this place with you alone,
It’s just for you and me.

I hope my words have given you,
A look within my soul,
I hope you saw the love I feel,
It was my poem’s goal.
