Diary of A Rich Girl – Chapter 71
Vance said, “I think I want the shoot to be about you.” “What about me?” He said, “I want to capture your beauty.” I said, “That’s easy. Just take my photo. But you need more than that.” He was clueless so I stepped in. “I have an idea. The story of your shoot is that I’m marooned on an island from a shipwreck and all I have is beautiful clothing to wear. It may sound stupid, but it’s women’s magazine fantasy par exemplar.”

Vance liked that. “Now tell me what to do. I want to be told what to do.” “But don’t you like need some clothing?” “Vance, I got a whole bag full of clothing. Now tell me what to do. I want to be bossed.”

Someone scrawny and about Vance’s age appeared by the dune. He had wild curly blond hair that covered his head. He was lean, sandy, and wearing a long surfer’s trunk. “You heard the lady, Vance.” Vance looked back, his finger on the camera button, the camera pointing up at the sky.

The scrawny kid came up to us and said, “Gimme the camera.” Vance wouldn’t but the kid was resourceful. He volunteered his services. “What you need is an assistant.” I said, “You mean art director.” Scrawny looked at me and smiled like he had just picked up a pretty girl’s dress. “Yeah, like an art director.”

He surveyed the area and said, “Get over there by the edge of the dune. Make believe you got binoculars and you’re looking through them trying to find a stray freighter or a Carnivale Cruise ship with a lot of fat shopping mall mama’s tilting the boat.”

He was a wise ass, but at least with a sense of humor. Vance didn’t like the kid all of a sudden and told him to get lost. Scrawny said, “Ask her.” Vance didn’t want my vote, but I voted anyway. “You’ll need an assistant one day. Might as well get used to it.”

Scrawny knew how to boss a girl around. I liked that. “Now you gotta look ship wrecked.” He pointed to the ocean. “Go get wet. Completely wet.” I got up and went to the surf. He followed me all the way and when we got there he said, “Get in there and get wet then get out and roll in the sand.” I liked his directness.

The water was chilly, but he didn’t like my toe testing. I thought he was going to push me in, “Hey, gimme a second” He laughed and smiled. So he could be nice if he wanted. I could almost start liking the guy.

I bent down and used my hands to spray myself with the cold ocean May water. He didn’t approve of that, “You just got shipwrecked, right? Cut the twinkle toes stuff.” He took me by the arm, I tried to run away but he dragged me kicking and screaming into the ocean and dunked me several times like it was old time religion.

Each time my face surfaced I spit a mouthful of salty water and howled. When he finished with me he dragged me by the arm to shore. “Okay, time to hit the sand.” I jumped back, “Oh, no. I’ve had enough.”

I shouldn’t have said that. He took hold of me. I like them when they’re strong and he rolled me back and forth in the sand. I howled and begged him to stop, but he kept on rolling me until I got that shipwrecked look. Then he yanked me up. I could barely see through the all sand caked over me. He laughed, “You’re not finished…..”
